A street corner, a coastline, the lines of a city skyline: places leave us with more than a photograph. They leave shapes, colours and a particular feeling.
Notice the simple things.
Look at the rhythm of windows, the curve of a road, or the space between trees. A small detail can become a starting point for a graphic without recreating an entire scene.
For Highcrest, this is a way of connecting clothing with a curious perspective. Typography, a limited palette and room around a design can suggest a place while leaving space for the person wearing it.
Keep a personal visual notebook.
Collect the details that mean something to you. Make a quick sketch or write down a few words. You do not need to be a designer to notice how a place feels. Sometimes the best inspiration is simply the thing that makes you stop and look again.
